Here. I. Sit. Quivering. With Self. Reproachment. For. Not. Planning. Ahead. (True. To. Form. [Un.Fortunately.])

I am all about getting away! Sometimes alone time is so great in a the hectic schedule of life with kids and work... enjoy eachother and remind one another why you are so blessed to be in each others life...

Too bad it's not multiple choice. I'd go with the romantic getaway (which I voted for), but also buy something she wants ... not needs.

5th anniversary... I remember mine fondly ... about 10 yrs ago Enjoy it .. it only comes once (for most of us anyway ).

I say get a sitter and get away, even if it's just for the weekend, or even overnight. Pay attention to each other and talk about things going on in your lives other than the kids, if possible. Just take the time to be newlyweds ... again

Congrats on your anniversary. And blessings to you both

I voted for buying her something she wants, needs are necessities, wants are extravagance, and speaking from experience, being married for over 30 years, buying her something she wants, makes you look real good...

I think this would be a very good idea.. you know, after five years we still love each other (even more than 5 years ago), but life does get a little hectic with 2 preschoolers, 1 & 3! Something like this might be good to reconnect..

It looks like most are favoring something like this.. thanks for all the replies! Keep them coming!

I think it's probably too late for a romantic getaway if it involves a flight or booking a reservation at a really nice place. I'd go for getting her what she wants and hopefully you'll have some ideas about what that might be. You're going to have to get this plan into operation ASAP! Good luck.

Yes.. actually, we may have to do something next month because right now at work people are leaving on vacation and I just can't take off . So we'll probably have a little time to plan.

We'll probably end up going somewhere AND I'll probably end up buying her something she wants... softy that I am.
