I currently have my house up for sale that I purchased last year and can no longer afford. I have not had any offers. I am not looking to profit. My first priorities are to sell the house so that I can pay back the loan and my credit cards. I have the house listed for less than I bought it for, but still no one has been interested. I am asking God to find a buyer so I just pay what I owe.
Chris M, I know how frustrating that can be because I recently went through the same ordeal. I sold my house in a suburb of Phoenix but it took me 14 months to do it and I lowered the price five times. There were about 57,000 houses up for sale in metro Phoenix at the time and the competition was fierce. It just takes the right person to walk in the door one day and make it happen and sooner or later that will happen to you. I'm not religious but I wish you the best of luck.
A key selling factor in a slow market is the price. You may have it listed for less than you bought it for, but it is possible that the market has dropped even further. Please make sure that you are priced in line with your competition. Also take advice from an agent as to how to make your home more sellable. I am assuming you go to Church - suggest posting you "for sale" sign there. Also have the pastor announce (or send an email) to advertise your house. Good luck!
