In this sign (verse) there is a very strong indication for the rotation of the earth
"Thou seest the mountains and thinkest them firmly fixed, but they pass like the passing of the clouds, (such is) the artistry of God, who disposes of all things in perfect order, for he is well acquainted with all that ye do. (The Noble Quran, 27:88)"
Sign of erosion being known to man for much of our history.
Man had very little understanding of the workings of the physical world. Day/night, stars, sun, the moon, seasons, fire, etc. etc. It scared him that he didn't know the 'why' so what we now call urban legends were conceived. Then it was all attributed to an invisible deity that controlled the unexplainable, man called it religion, and man was happy.
Now it is embarrassing as the 'urban legends' are morphed to match our understanding of the physical world, yet does not have the courage to just admit "we were wrong". Those still following these urban legends are very much like the small minority that still firmly believe the earth is flat, in spite of all the evidence.

Do you enjoy failing so much?
I would be quite embarrased.
this verse "Thou seest the mountains and thinkest them firmly fixed, but they pass like the passing of the clouds, (such is) the artistry of God, who disposes of all things in perfect order, for he is well acquainted with all that ye do. (The Noble Quran, 27:88)"
does not hint to erosion but to the rotation or revolution of the Earth
pass = move
passing = movement
here is the translation of the actual arabic text verse to french
Et tu verras les montagnes - tu les crois figées - alors qu'elles passent comme des nuages. Telle est l'oeuvre d'Allah qui a tout façonné à la perfection. Il est Parfaitement Connaisseur de ce que vous faites!
I've never quite understood the whole search for "Proof" in religions. Religion is mainly based upon faith... faith is what saves you, what reveals the greatness of whatever religion you follow. Faith is believing in something without actual proof to render it as something known. If you have proof of your religion, you no longer believe, you know... Knowing is different than having faith, so it kinda defeats the purpose

Nice cherry picking, something scriptural apologists pretend to be good at.
You ignored this part...
the artistry of God, who disposes of all things in perfect order
So unless those mountains sail off the edge of this flat earth into a huge dumpster, your as full of bovine fecal matter as your scriptrues.

Thou seest the mountains and thinkest them firmly fixed, but they pass like the passing of the clouds,
if we supposed that the verse talking about erosion , then tell me " is erosion wasn't noticable back then ? because quran said that thou thinkest them firmly , is that mean that people back then never knew about erosion of mountain ?
and why the verse used the motion of clouds as an example , is there erosion with clouds as well which not noticable by our naked eyes ?
in which way the passing of the mountains is similar to the passing of the clouds?
The answer is: like the clouds pass because of the movement of the medium in which they are (the air), the mountains also pass because of the movement of the earth on which they are placed. Furthermore, notice the accuracy of using the word 'pass' which implies movement in a constant direction as opposed to the word 'move' which can imply changing or random movement to accurately describe the scene one would behold if he or she was to rise high above the earth and observe, while being stationary, the mountains below.
