December 2012...what do you think will happen?

I think the world is not going to end like the Mayan predicted but I know I will still be worried by the time 2012 comes around incase they are right.

I think people will buy Christmas presents.

I think people will argue back and forth about which college football team deserve to make it into the BCS.

I think Norelco electric shavers will continue to run the same stupid ad of Santa riding the electric razor through the snow, the same ad that's been running since my childhood.

I think people will throng the shopping malls up until closing time, desperately trying to buy the last present.

I think my brother will continue to give me gifts that make no sense whatsoever.

I think a whole new spate of over-the-top movies will show in theaters.

I think that, on December 31st at 11:59:99, the world will not come to an end, and people will enter 2013, wondering what all this end of the world nonsense was about.

I don't know but it's intriguing how the Mayan calendar coincides with the I Ching, Egyptian calendar, Native American beliefs, etc. I wonder if the events that are supposed to take place on 12.21.12 are happening slowly already causing our current climate changes and such, but the cycle won't be completed until this date, at which time, I don't think it will be the end by any means. I just think it will cause various atmospheric disturbances which will bring about some wilder weather than we're used to, but nothing resulting in our complete demise. Or, nothing will happen.

Gimme a break , the Mayan calendar doesn't predict any end of the world superstition, on that date the Mayan calendar comes to the end of a 500 year cycle for the 5th time and begins a new cycle and that is all it does, period. People who don't understand seem to want to make something out of nothing. 12/21/12 is the winter solstice, comes around every year on that date, regardless of what year it is.

I'm going to do...nothing unusual, because it's just another Y2K-ish panic by the idiot masses.
