There are prophecies and oracles from around the world that all seem to point to December 21, 2012 as doomsday. The ancient Mayan Calendar, the medieval predictions of Merlin, the Book of Revelation and the Chinese oracle of the I Ching all point to this specific date as the end of civilization. A new technology called "The Web-Bot Project" makes massive scans of the internet as a means of forecasting the future... and has turned up the same dreaded date: 2012. Skeptics point to a long history of "Failed Doomsdays", but many oracles of doom throughout history have a disturbingly accurate track record. Are there any reasons to believe these doomsayers?
I just watched a show on this last night on the History Channel. (I should point out that I myself don't think that the Book of Revelation points to this exact date.) However, the other things on the program--I Ching, the Mayans, "The Web-Bot Project", do all independantly of each other point to this exact date.

Funny you mentioned this, I just read a book called The Gaia Project 2012 regarding the same thing. I received the book with mixed reviews. While I like to keep an open mind, if 2012 was it, what could I possible do? All I can do is continue to live my life in truth. Thanks for shedding light though, cause I had no idea other sources (I- Ching, etc.) stated 2012 also.

A little disturbing, isn't it? The History show said that some sort of alignment of the earth with the sun and moon (and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember) would happen on that date for the 1st time in 27,000 years (or something like that). Skeptics say that this is the very simple reason why the Mayan calender and the I-Ching lined up...they were very advanced astrologically.

I remember sitting in Spanish class in 1988, the day the world was supposed to end, at the time I kinda hoped it would cause I didnt study for the test that day-lol. Whether it does today, or tomorrow, or 100 years from now....
Matthew 28:20 Jesus said."
20 and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Parenthesis mine
Please send me any money you think you won't need!
Oh, I don't believe it, just thought it would be interesting discussion. I tend to think it will simply be a date of astrological importance, but that's about it.

I TOTALLY remember this one..."88 Reasons Why the Rapture Could Be in 1988". I think my Dad bought a copy to check it out, then tossed it in the garbage. Here's a link about it....
It shouldn't matter when the end will come, today, tomorrow, 2012, or hundreds of years from now after we're gone, what matters the most is if you're ready.
