99.9% of the time I would think most would give more credibility to someone if they were known to have a PhD or work as a professor...so I could see where it would be a claim that would be made on a board like this.
That is exactly the problem as I see it. People claim to be who they are not in order to lend more credence to what they are saying.... usually because they have no actual arguments or evidence to back up what they are saying. So if I made claim X about biology and I had ZERO evidence for that claim.... I could instead say "Well you should believe me because I had a phd....".
All too often people look at the credentials and not the actual claims and that can be quite damaging.
I welcome the input to this thread from someone actually working in the industry however, do not get me wrong or mistake what I mean. Your input is certainly welcome and despite myself I will likely pay a little more attention to what you write on this thread because of it. I just will not apply any more... or less... scrutiny to those claims while doing so is all and this is how people should act. If someone says on a biology thread that they have a biology phd then by all means pay more ATTENTION to what they say.... but never apply less credibility testing to what they say while doing so.
I have a mild porn addiction as a result of bad luck with the opposite sex, and being single. I have recently noticed some very bad themes in some clips. I am going to try harder to stop watching.

Also be careful of blurring the lies between X and addiction to X. Addiction may be a bad thing, but one can not validly indict the thing with it by proxy automatically. The question is whether X is immoral in and of itself, not whether addiction to X is.
There are those that will blur that line too easily. Some out of error and illogical thinking. Some as a tactic to further their agenda.
