I don't know if this is projected at me or you're just making a statement. I don't read the bible. I don't like what is in it. Sure, there are some great stories, but that is all. Just stories and a bunch of man made lies to go with it so as to confuse the believers.

killing a baby would be considered a sin if you are a church goer. killing a baby is a crime if you go to church or not. if you are asking is abortion a sin I would say no

That about sums it up really. They are too afraid to see the double sidedness of this "loving god". Fear will make you do anything. Heck, I don't speed on the highway because I FEAR my insurance rate going up!

It makes more sense when you think of it this way:
Reverand1111 is a christian who doesn't worship the bible as if it's a god.
Most Christians, whether they admit it or not, worship the bible as if it is divine and magical in and of itself. They don't accept the fact that it was written by man and compiled by man. More than just divinely inspired, they believe it is perfect. It is the new Golden Calf that they worship. It can not possible be wrong, and every word must literally be true.
The good reverend, I believe, sees it as one source of information about God. And maybe a good source, too. But still, it is a book written by man, with all the failings that man has to offer. She looks for God outside the book, too.
I'm quick to compliment Rev.'s brand of religion, because it is one of the most pro-social religions i've seen. I don't believe it's true, but if someone is going to believe in the Christian god, her way makes sense and does good instead of harm to the world. (Because she only preaches love, and not hate.)

Yes they definately would! Many years ago I had a similar conversation with a die hard UPC-er and he was asking if in the "end times" when Christians would be persecuted terribly what I would do if "they" were holding my then baby son over a vat of boiling oil asking me to renounce by belief in god to save my baby. Well when I told him that I don't think god would want the bad guys to burn babies and I would no doubt just renounce....well he wasn't too happy with me. Wah. (But then I read the OT and saw that god actually LIKED killing babies....) so who knows.
You only assume I've not read the bible. I have. I also have very reliable sources that tell me differently. That the bible is not the word of God. That there are many things in that book that never happened, including the flood. God does not kill. Why would He make laws and then break His own laws? That is not the God I know. The God I know sets laws and then when humans break them, they pay the penalty either hereor in the spirit world. No, God is just and fair and most of all, He is LOVE to the fullest. He cannot destroy what He created. You, person, are the one who is misled.
The bible was written by man for man, to live as man would have you live. I know that if God ever wrote something, He would never ever say that He commanded another to kill or destroy another soul. God would never destroy that which He created.
So, do you think that Jesus is God? And if you do how do you know if you reject the bible as the word of God?
Do you not also have the spirit of truth that Jesus gave to all? This helps one determine if something is true or not. I also have done A LOT of reading in other areas. I have read about more than one religion and I do study a lot of spiritual books.

The commandments that Jesus gave at the last supper can be found in the bible and also on the above listed web site. When Love is the main focus of any soul, you will know, without a doubt, that God could not have ordered anyone to kill nor would God kill any of His creations.

False. No Jew for thousands of years EVER drew such conclusions based on Genesis 1. That was an interpretation invented much later by the Christian church and forced back into the passage. You just happen to live SINCE that time and buy into it.
