It wasn't until after the crucifixion that people became known as Christians. They were simply followers of Jesus. they emulated the life that Jesus taught......care for each other, feed the hungry, comfort the distraught, help the helpless. After the crucifixion a bunch of the "disciples" who had never met Jesus in the flesh decided to make up all kinds of rules as to how Christians ought to be, how they should act, what they should believe, how they should speak. Jesus taught a one on one relationship with God. Post crucifixion Christians taught a hierarchy.......elders, deacons, etc.....who should speak, who should keep quiet, who should have authority over whom.........none were characteristics that Jesus taught. So when I reference pre crucifixion Christians or post denominational Christians I am referencing that group of Christians that have attempted and are accomplishing the living of a life where each individual has a personal relationship with God without the overbearing presence or rules of a "church" hierarchy or authority.....recognizing only the authority of God. I am talking about those that have a deep intimate personal relationship with God, who feels it is more important to care for each other than it is to proselytize them, whose true allegiance is not to a man made church or organization but to the creation of God.
My family was/is Presbyterian, but....one year, I gave up christianity for lent and never picked it back up. Found I did much better without religion, my mind is more at peace.

So I'm (very gladly) not religious at all, so hopefully this doesn't sound stupid. What exactly is agnostic?
My mom's side was Catholic, my dad's was Lutheran. By the time they were 18 both of them were definitely "over it", and never pressed the issue. I went to church with my grandparents quite a bit, and actually went to Bible camp during the summer for many years in a row. Strangely the only thing I really took away from bible camp was that compared to my friends or people at school - those kids were MEAN. A serious bunch of little sh*ts I wanted NOTHING to do with.
But anyway.....I"m all Halloween drunk now, haha. The hell is agnostic!?

Agnostic is saying that you believe that the existance of a god cannot be proven or disproven. A glorified atheist! Or agnatheist!
I'm generally a Wiccan, with Buddhist overtones, but think all religions are different "paths to the top of the mountain." I am more spiritual than religious, but hate what religious institutions have done in the name of "god" over the many centuries.
