This is the exact reason if proven that a person is born this way that the Bible HAS to be wrong or the interpretation of the Bible has to be wrong....because He wouldn't create someone or allow someone to be created to live damned to sin. Can you see where I am coming from now?

It has not been proven yet. The studies are still being done and nothing conclusive has come from it. Let's say for the sake of argument that it was proven that same sex attraction is genetic. This then means that God made a mistake since His Word states that He is Holy and perfect. Followers of Christ know that God cannot make a mistake and so the theory that it might be genetic is flawed from the standpoint of His Word. Therefore, it has to be choice. I still stand by His Word and what He says.

But the point of the original scenario is hypothetically IF IT IS PROVEN, not just claimed what would you think. I don't think you have to think God made a mistake...I think it has to be assumed man made the mistake when writing and interpreting the bible on this subject. Get it?

It wouldn't be a choice then, so it couldn't be a sin.
Also, as I said, yesterday, I don't accept that "we are all created to mate and spend our lives with a companion." Personally, I am married. I like being married. St. Paul, in the new testament, however addresses the fact that he thinks there are clear advantages to living a single, celibate life. Again, I admit, I personally don't want to, but it IS an option.

I do agree here, yes. I have some friends who have chosen to follow the celibate life and they are very happy. Some are followers of Christ and others are not. They dated when they were younger and decided to follow this lifestyle. Personally, I love being married but I give kudos to those who can live alone. Like they told me, they are alone but they are not lonely.

I agree 100% with this. It has not been proven and won't be. It is a choice like you said and I will ALWAYS stand on His Word not mans.

Since the words of the Bible came from the Holy Spirit I do not believe they are wrong or incorrect.

Again Kaykay I have to give you credit for honestly participating in the hypothetical, some don't seem to be able to play this game. And you are right you can live a happy single celibate life. Since homosexuality is not the norm and neither is living a happy single celibate life...you would still have to believe that God for some reason chose these people who are homosexual to be different from the norm of the rest of society. Why would He do that?

As we have debated in the "Free Will" thread, you have no choice. You will choose what your god has programmed you to choose. If you choose otherwise, your god is not omniscient.

No, I am free to choose whatever path I want, and for me that path is to chose Gods way over mans. Freewill.
