I've looked at the RTC website as well as the airport's. I live in Southwest Reno right next to the Starbucks on Lakeridge and McCarren.

It appears that I would have to walk over a mile to get to the 9 bus, and then transfer to the 19 bus. I will probably have 2 large suitcases with me so it's a little bit of a pain walking a mile with them along with a backpack with a heavy laptop in it! My return flights are late at night and don't feel safe walking alone at night either.

It looks like a cab would cost me $20 each way (being conservative... Numbeo.com says slighty over $15)

Does anyone know of a cheaper option? I know airport parking is $10 a day. I don't want to involve my coworkers with them giving me rides and I don't have any friends or know my neighbors here yet.

I most likely will just end up taking cabs for trip over 3 nights, but I'm trying to see if any long term residents know of some things I didn't look into. I thought maybe for short 3 trips (meaning 3 nights), I could just park at Circus Circus or something and then just take the one bus from there but I don't know if they monitor parking constantly.

We always just asked a friend/co-worker to drop/pick up. Reno is so small its not like its an extensive drive. However, since that is not an option, I know many people that would park at the GSR (Grand Sierra) and take their shuttle to the airport.

Is the shuttle just for hotel guests?

I would pay the taxi vs taking a chance of being towed.

Obviously, but do they ask for your name?

I have no idea, we never did it but had friends that did. We always had a friend drop us off or took a cab.

I've had good luck price wise with airport shuttle services, haven't used that out here but in other areas. Might be worth looking into... I once had a town car deliver me to a local airport in 'style' for $10 + tip.

Which companies did you use? I looked up the ones on the airport's website and they either won't go to my area or they are $55 one way for an hour.

Like I said, I haven't used these types of services out here so I'm not familiar with any local companies. Sounds like it's a more expensive here.. Last one I took was from Akron/Canton Airport from downtown Canton. The limo company was based out of the airport, and it was early during the week so perhaps I got lucky.
