I'm almost ready to move out of my apartment and the manager said "if you clean the place we wont charge you $175 and you can get your whole deposit back." Thanks but I don't mind losing said money. I'm under enough stress and have no interest in cleaning an oven. Hire your crew and charge me. My mother would be throwing a fit at me but thankfully I'm a grown man who allows mumsy to have her fits here and there. Cocktails!

I lived in an apartment that was brand new - most of the complex still under construction when I moved in. The Construction Dust was still all over. I was pissed I had to clean before moving in. I took photos. When I moved out i spoke to a neighbor who had moved out a couple weeks before I moved and she said she cleaned and they deducted $150 for something piddly - can't remember what it was so I made sure I took photos after I cleaned and I mentioned to the girl in the leasing office that I had before and after photos if she wanted them. Nope - full deposit refunded . But another neighbor told me the new leases had a standard deduction of $175. for moveout cleaning and if there was anything additional they would get an itemized statement. HAHA lots of luck getting that.

The complex I currently live at is owned by the company I work at - I'm on the construction side of the business. The Director of Leased Properties said they never refund full deposits. I told here point blank I was getting my full deposit back and that I took pictures at both move-in and move- out. I also plan on having the carpet cleaned. not playing that game B@%CH. and she is....
