Have you priced bottled water lately?

not just water, check this list out. when you think of the millions upon millions of dollars involved in machines and costs for a gallon of gas it is amazing how cheap it is.

Gallons of stuff that cost more than gasoline

Default Senior Menu

I wish more places would offer senior menu items. Actually, my appetite hasn't lightened up yet. I wish it would. Still, most places give you way too much food to eat so they can charge more.

Nah, this is a tourist area. Not many old people here, lots of families on vacation. People come here for home style fresh fish, clams, all that stuff. They want authentic New England, not chains. Lots of sidewalk cafes--tourists will pay anything. It makes it pricier for us but the food is good, the few times we DO eat out.

We have found that there are often items on the appetizer menu that we like, especially when traveling. So I will order something such as quesadillas off the appetizer menu and then - maybe a salad. Hubby might order an entree, as he eats more than I do.

Sometimes, we have noticed a special for a cup of soup and 1/2 of a sandwich. That is often plenty and if it isn't - I add a side salad.

We have found when traveling that we like to stop at grocery stores/markets and we can get a lot of food from the deli - or even ingredients and a loaf of bread - and make some nice sandwiches, pick up some fruit - and come out cheaper than eating in a restaurant. I like to buy some good cheese and have it to nibble on in the car, along with fruit. We carry a cooler so we can store things we find along the way. :-)

last night we went out for my sons birthday. being diabetic is such an issue because the staff knows so little about the food.

i can't take eating dry grilled checken anymore or a piece of tasteless fish but without knowing what is in stuff rarely does anything that sounds safe end up being safe .

salt ,sugar or corn starch end up in everything some how.

I assume you're asking for all sauces on the side?
Ask for lemon juice, salsa or pico de gallo and dip the meat.
Besides, if it's dry or tasteless, they're cooking it wrong - probably too long.
