Don't know if I am ready for this or not but here goes.

Butterflies in the stomach and all.

Thought I would work another year or two but I've had it.

You're a few days ahead of me for the same reason-I've had it. Thought I'd stay another year or two, also. Good going.

66 year old man's stress got to me.

Looking at my financial condition I realize if I don't buy a vacation home I don't have to work. Duh?

I'll apply for social security and see what happens.

In the meantime what do I do for the rest of the day? Never mind, I'll find something.

I did the same ~ 16 Feb 2013. That same feeling of having had enough. and working was an option I could live without.

Good luck.

Congratulations! Just take it all in and enjoy the experience.

You only get to do it once in your life.

Congratulations! I've been retired since 2009, and I love it.

Allow yourself some time just to rest, and adjust to your new life. Don't make any big commitments for a while. It's a big change, so just eeeeeeeease into it.
