I am in my 60's and in high school we still had them. I wonder if any high school student today would know what they are?

I'm turning fifty this week and I don't know what they are! LOL. I've heard of them but don't know what they actually were.

YES! They were still used at Beaux Arts/Debutante events as late as the early 70s where I grew up (the South).

People won't even RSVP these days - can you imagine filling out a dance card and then changing your mind and dancing with someone else? For EVERY dance?!

While I've never used one, I certainly know what they are. Were?

I am 40. I have only heard the term "dance card" in movies, and it always used in the context of a woman who has been around the block or is loose/promiscuous.

I was watching a PBS show and they had them, and I was reminded of them. In high school in the 60s I belonged to a sorority. We held dances and had dance cards. They were a booklet which served as a keepsake of the evening, and had lines where boys signed up to dance with the girls. Such a blast from the past.
