Both just turned 60 and will retire in a year. We have a different city/state/climate in mind but wonder if
61-62 is too old to make such a drastic change? Or do you just see it as an adventure of sorts?
There's an old schtick about an older person who wanted to go to school, but, was concerned about how old they would be when they finally graduated. Then someone asked a question that helped them move ahead, "How old will you be if you don't go to school?"
We moved to another town at 64/68 -- It's tough to get re-established because there aren't as many common social connections as for younger people (kids, jobs, etc) -- but, it can certainly be done.

An adventure, absolutely!
My wife and I moved to Maine last fall, at ages 61 and 62 respectively. We moved from Virginia, so we moved to a totally different city/state/climate. My wife lived virtually her entire life in the MD/DC/VA area, and I lived there since I was 14. Our last house in VA we were in for 22 years.
We moved from a house on a quarter-acre in the suburbs to a lakefront house in the country.
And we are SO happy we made the move. We love it here.
Moved at 64 and moved again at 70....different states. No regrets. I have children at both locations and that certainly made it easier. I am not ruling out one more move to third child's state (if I can afford it since it is California) We have moved many times during our marriage and I have become used to it. Enjoy the adventure aspects of moving....new places, new people, new church, new trails, etc. I still have old friends but with technology what it is today we stay in touch very well. I talk with sisters and old friends weekly. Are you too old? Do you accept change readily? Do you think of the future rather than the past? I have friends who just would not do well if they had to change their surroundings. My advice: know yourself. Best of luck.

Depends more on your condition than clock age. Where are you, where do you want to go, how much stuff do you want to take with you? Why do you want to move?
All these questions should tell you if you want to do this or not.
There are a ton of threads on here about moving, where to go, why etc.. You can read for days with all the info and questions that people ask and get answered on those threads. Just use the "search forums" above.
