I'm not so sure the worst is completely over but I Know in my heart the best is yet to come.

Any day above ground starts as a good day.

I have less then some, but more than most.

I may not have six pack abs but I'm not in the hospital.

I don't run as fast but now I see more when walking.

No butler or maid but I can still do for myself.

I don't live in a palace but I'm out of the weather with a place to lay my head.

Aches and pains follow me, but I still haven't lost the ability to laugh or cry.

I will never be on American idol or the Voice but will still sing Christmas Carols, Happy Birthday, and at church.

I can't travel all the wonders of the world but still look forward to sunsets, Christmas trees, and a 1 yr old's birthday cake.

Some senses are dulled but I can still smell fresh cut grass, the ocean salt, burning autumn leaves, and baking cookies.

I'm still not patience but now I feel in my whole body the effort it takes to stay angry, forgiveness is a blessing.

Some of my friends are gone but they have left behind fond memories, and great stories.

A lot of things have run dry but there is still an abundant amount of smiles, kindnesses and encouragements to hand out.

I bet you someone near you desperately wants to talk, Im happy I can still listen, and pray.

Right now I still see in a mirror dimly, but soon face to face.

This has been a major joy of my retirement too.

I also emigrated to Europe by myself and started a new life. I have loved it.

I was just telling my wife that I can no longer relate to working people. I'm thankful for this.

I'm also thankful that I live in the greatest country in the world.

I'm thankful to live in one of the best states in the country.

I'm thankful that I live on an acreage in the country.

I'm thankful for having a very comfortable life.

I'm thankful that I live in the farm belt where food straight from the farm is abundant.

Even thought I have one medical issue over all I'm healthy.

I'm glad I'm out of debt.

I'm glad that every day is mine.

And that most important issue is that I'm glad that I earned every thing that I have and that I have had a productive well accomplished life in my working life, private life, and in my retired life and because of this I can reflect and be happy.

Good timing on this thread as I am feeling whiny about my health.

Thankful for that my health could be worse
Thankful for really good medical insurance
Thankful for friends and family
Thankful for my husband
Thankful that I have hobbies to keep my mind engaged
Thankful for my dogs

Very lucky, but I still like to complain every once in awhile.

I'm thankful that I have the required 2 million to retire in comfort...

Just kidding!

I'm really thankful that I found Ecuador where we could retire to a beachfront home with a huge deserted beach on our measly SS, no pension. And no debt either.

I'm thankful for modern medicine, because 100 years ago I would have been dead 6 times over.

I grouch about my bad joints but I'm grateful I can still walk and do stairs. And enjoy really lame Frisbee.

I'm thankful that our overseas shipment finally got here yesterday in one piece and DH now has his piano and guitars.

I'm glad I just learned that Hell is not what I was taught growing up!

Yes. Every morning on my walk, I take it all in and do a silent thank you starting with my legs that carry me.

I could go on. This trail is a 100 yards from my house

Oh yes, I am thankful every day for so many things. Coffee, a comfortable bed, good health, my husband, a roof over our heads, food on the table. So very grateful. And looking back at my list, those aren't exactly in the right order, lol.

My list would be just like the OP's except for the children, since I don't have any.

I am grateful to be retired in my favorite city. I am also grateful to have enough income for a comfortable retirement, to have affordable health care and to have a husband who loves me and still has all his marbles.
