Boy this is me to a t!! I keep complaining about this pesky 6 pounds, and I know dam well that if I layed off the wine I'd lose it! But what fun is THAT??
Speaking of shoes, I decided I had too many so I went through them and took 3 boxes full to the Easter Seals re-sell store. Then I counted what I had left. 37.

Collecting seaglass and shells.

Have been collecting since I was 5 years old.

Best part of my hobby? Costs me nothing. I live about 1/4 from my favorite beach and walk it 2 to 3 times a week and usually come back with a handful or two of glass.

I have given away about 80% of my shells in the past 5 years and a lot of the glass, but it still brings me great joy when I find a unique piece.

Are there good seashell beaches in or near Santa Barbara? I used to love collecting seashells many times in Naples, Florida, and the one time I went to Sanibel-Captiva Islands.

Are there any good seashelling beaches along the west coast that you know of?

  • Books
  • Birdhouses
  • Quilts
  • Decorating/gardening magazines
  • Glass/ceramic pieces
  • Art prints

I've slowed way down. It's either that or buy a bigger house (when I'm trying to downsize).

tropical fish

I belong to "Plecaholics Anon" and it isn't working. Gets rid of my zucchini fast, though.

A better question would be what DON'T I ever want to quit accumulating. Let's look at it this way: when I die, people are going to think I was a hoarder because my body will be surrounded by and buried under books, books, more books, magazines, books, dollhouses, books, model horses, books, and porcelain collies (among other dogs), Hallmark ornaments, cats, rats, and parakeets. Did I mention books?

And that's only scratching the surface. Fortunately, I'm not rich, or I could open a museum and fill it with the things I like and would like to collect. I am a true first world modern day person who likes "STUFF". Forgive me, George Carlin.
