As I get older I feel like I am getting more anxious or nervous about things.
I used to be so carefree. Could it also be weather related? We have had a really dreary winter.
Talking to other older people I can tell or they tell me that they are also feeling anxious a lot.
I find it strange since a lot of them have kids, husbands, grandkids - the things that are supposed to bring peace and bliss to your life. So is there no hope for me?
I hope the warm sunny weather brings an end to this.
Depression and other related conditions can occur with age. There should be no shame and often treatment can all but instantly correct the problem. A great many diseases, such as thyroid disease, can be first detected by anxiety, nervousness, etc. Don't blame the weather. Don't ignore the feeling or think it is a normal part of ageing.
Schedule a doctor's visit. If nothing is wrong, at least you will know.
No, I don't think that is strange or unusual at all.
I think the older one gets, the more one realizes that things can go wrong -- plus when one is older, it is not always as easy to recover from things going wrong as it is when we were younger.
For example, I never used to worry about my husband getting hurt, but now I worry a LOT about that -- even though he is only 61 and in fairly good shape. I just know that if anything were to happen to him, my life would never be as good again. Ditto for financial troubles. If I screwed up when I was younger, I always felt, "Well, I can always make more money." Now, in retirement, I know that if we make bad financial decisions, we are will probably NOT be able to recover from that EVER, and that would have all kinds of very serious ramifications.

If it continues or stops you from doing your normal things, I would go see a doctor.
I, on the other hand, have noticed I don't get startled so easily anymore, and when things happen I don't get so anxious or upset. Partly I'm tired of caring so much anymore. Partly, I just go with the flow.
I can sort of relate. I think it has a lot to do with the time of year, something to do with the weather, maybe a lot to do with our society and its direction. I hate to say it, but, sometimes our dreams and plans don't work out like we want them to. I don't know the answer. I think we just need to keep doing the best we can and.... well heck I don't really know. I will say one thing for sure. Keep the faith.

I am on thyroid medication and do need to have bloodwork since I;m on my last refill. I just can't gather the energy to get it done. Or maybe not energy, but the wanting to do it.

That is what I tell myself to do - go with the flow.

I've known you for a long long time now and I don't recall you ever feeling this way till lately. I think some of your family and friends depress you too and you worry about them too much. Maybe when winter is over your 'fog' will lift and you'll be okay. In the meantime DO get to the doctor and get your blood work done. Could be something really simple and, at least, you'll know.

Hugs and hang in there!!
Thank you. Yes, not like me at all.
I look back at my facebook memories each day and I was just doing things. I do try to get out at least once a day.
