I am OK. Back home the same day as the surgery and recovering quickly. Sometimes you win the coin toss.

It was more the timing of one's own mortality. Work hard, live clean, take care of yourself, save for your future, and enjoy a decade or two of work-free and care-free living after your retirement.

It is just a kick in the teeth to be reminded the end goal isn't always achieved by the first four items. This was the third such reminder within the past month. I am not enough of a fatalist to not be bothered by these exceptions.
