Best vacation ever was when we bought a tent and went to a campground in CT. Being the geniuses that we are, went to Mohegan Sun, left the tent unzipped and came back to find it flooded from a thunderstorm. No hotel points, just sleeping in the dirt.

Yes once or twice a year even though we live in a beautiful location.

We have a 2 week Southern Carribean cruise coming up in early November [mostly paid for through rewards points and online surveys] We still love cruises, but it is different now that we are retired.

For one thing, since we are retired, it is no longer rush through our vacation and then rush to get back to work. That was depressing, and tiring. Now, we go on vacation, come home, and get back to enjoying our permanent staycation. Living where we do, in the most beautiful place in the world [my opinion] we can enjoy our cruise much more than before, and coming home almost as much.

We've been on permanent holiday/vacation since retiring 12 years ago. Used to go on lots of short trips but now we like more relaxing ones. So we spend 3 months of winter in a hot climate, a month in the summer in the US to see family, and short trips around the UK in between.

Since retiring life has been one big vacation. Occasionally we trip out to interesting places we've never been to before. That's one of life's retirement benefits.

Retireing soon. Moving to the beach. No more expensive hotel rooms, or praying for good weather.

Not me. Walking on the beach is only ten minutes away. My wife hooks up with my daughter several times a year for some trips. I'm happy just hanging out at home with a dog at my feet.

We need to get away to recover from all the grandparenting duties that occupy us. We seem to go overseas about twice a year since we have retired. We have been to Europe several times, North and South America, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Malaysia, Vietnam, China. We go to Queensland every year but what we do not do a great deal is to go on relaxing beach type holidays as we can relax at home. When these jolly kids get back to school on Tuesday!!

Since retirement it's a constant vacation. We take 1-2 international trips a year, a couple major U.S. trips and many 2-3 overrnight or day driving trips always searching for something new and unique. We absolutely love exploring and, as we are still healthy and able, will continue to do so as long as possible.

I haven't been on a vacation since April of 2007. I need one desperately.
