My father is 100 today. He was born Feb. 14, 1909 in what was then part of the Austro-Hungarian empire. When he was born there were no TVs, radios, lightbulbs, satellites, rockets, computers. The airplane, car, phone and radio had barely been invented, electricity was not yet in widespread use. He's survived 2 world wars, 4 car accidents, a burst appendix, a twisted colon, shells and bullets missing him by inches and minutes, being kicked by a horse, a mugging, a manic/depressive wife, the death of his wife and 2 ungrateful children. He came here with the shirt on his back and a few gold rings in his pocket. From that he built 2 houses, went bankrupt, sold hotdogs on the street, bought 2 houses, started a business and made a small fortune, lost some of it then made it back. He finally closed the business 4 years ago. Most of what I have I owe to my dad. Thanks pops.

Dad says aloha. Maybe they could get together for one last fling! Might kill 'em but what a way to go!

I guess I should add I'm looking for a nicer place to retire than this frozen tundra in upstate NY. Hawaii sure looks tempting this time of year.

He hasn't seen his daughter in over a year. Too busy with her career and cocktail parties I guess. His son gets to have all the fun.

Happy Belated Birthday to your father. If only the youth of today could share the same values and work ethic that your dad has.

Congrats to your dad.
Old folks Are a treasure.
A direct link to history.
Your history.
When their gone you
loose some of that.

Talk to them. Ask
those things now.

Geos, Sounds like your dad did
a good job with you all.* Your
blessed to still have him with you.
