Last year, in one of my visits to your lovely state, I came across a plant about 30 inches long, yellow, with a brown/black center and long petals, about 4 to 5 inches long. I went to CHAVEZ Nursery, because they had it last year, but it was October, and the plant did not look that well. This year I went back to CHAVEZ, in June, and they cannot remember the name of the plant. Some venture to say that it may be a SPECIAL biennial Rudbeckia. I have Rudbeckias in my garden, but this was a very large yellow flower, and not what I have. I have seen it also, in a house by the beach, but there was noone home. I will not be able to rest until I can find that plant. Can someone help me? Thank you,

Might be a Black-Eyed Susan - google it and see if the photo matches what you are describing. That is a Rudbeckia Hirta and is native to RI.
