Default Which state is best? CT, RI, MA

Newlyweds, No children but soon, $600-800K housing budget, Husbands job will be in West Kingston, RI but willing to drive 45 minutes, seeks friendly, diverse, town with shops, restaurants, etc. Moving from Nashville, TN(A place we love).

If you were us which state would you live in?

Given that you have a job and the sections of each state that you can commute from to be within your 45 minute radius, I'd absolutely go with Rhode Island. There are a bunch of excellent communities within your reach in RI.

I'd check out East Greenwich (Wickford Village), Newport, Middletown, N. Kingston, and many others.

If you want some diversity, look at Westerly RI or New London CT.
Both have downtown and walkable areas.
