Has anyone looked at this boundary map for Chesterfield County high schools lately? Some of these boundaries are bizarre. For example, what's with the little strip on Walmsley blvd east of Newby's Bridge Rd that gets bused all the way to Manchester, even though the rest of Manchester's district stops west of Courthouse Rd. Makes no sense. Those kids should be going to Monacan or Meadowbrook.

I would expect CloverHill didn't cut through the middle until the New Cloverhill was built. The Area probably holds Manchester Middle (formerly Manchester High) and at the time the new Manchester High was built it made complete sense that it was a part of the new Manchester territory. It should probably be absorbed by Meadowbrook and then some of Cosby territory (which is overcrowded be moved to Manchester) ... but that would be an absolute political fire storm!!!

That's exactly what needs to happen. People go crazy to be a part of the Cosby district and it's silly. Manchester gets a bum rap in my opinion. And moving that group that I mentioned above out certainly wouldn't hurt.

The School Board has said for quite a while that a complete redistricting needs to be done at all education levels. Parents are against it as they buy homes for certain schools. It is totally a political issue, as the School Board members are elected. Supposedly that was going to be addressed with the new school start times, however it was never brought up. I encourage you to attend the next School Board meeting to express your concerns.

Both Meadowbrook and Cosby are overcrowded. Honestly, another high school should start to be built in the Western Chesterfield (Rountrey, Magnolia Green, Hallsley) area, because if that area is only set to keep growing - it might be smart to do it now.
