Try posting in the Northern Va. Forum or even just the Va. Forum. Colonial Beach is actually pretty far from the Tidewater area. It is about 25mi. from Fredricksburg Va. and an hour and a half from the D.C. area. Here is a link to the towns website. Colonial Beach VirginiaI am not too farmilair with it but an ex-coworker of mine owned a cottage home there. Good luck!

I have friends that live near Colonial Beach -- it's a river beach, BTW, not an ocean beach. What is is that you want to know?

I've not heard good things about Col. Beach. I work in King George County and so I hear folks talk about it a lot. I inquired with a co-worker once about possibly moving there and she thought I was insane. It sounds like there are a lot of crime issues and it is just a depressed area in general.
