Hey, I just found a neat webcam positioned to track the progress of the construction of the Art Museum of Western Virginia in downtown Roanoke, VA:

It's pretty neat; I set it to update every second and I could see them raising steel members with the crane.

Great! As another plus... it gives those of us considering Roanoke as a new home a chance to "see" the weather.

Default New Art Museum

I just saw an interview with the new head of the art museum. I didn't know it will be a one of kind type design for any art museum in the U.S. Certainly, it will transform the image of Roanoke from a "railroad town" as the Washington Post put it to a "world class" art destination. As I drive by the site, it looks like a flying saucer has taken over downtown Roanoke, as it overwhelms everything downtown. When the glass and steel go up, I believe it will begin to fit into place.

Thank you for that, Sean. The last time my husband and I were in Roanoke we were very impressed and surprised by the construction site.

I love the new art museum. All of those who fear change and make fun of it (or worse) need a kick to the head.
