I never thought about that. A sad commentary about where we are today as a society. Didn't use to be this bad.

BTW, those are good dirtbags. It's the crap's fault

This went to a different place than I thought it would, but some of its findings are interesting.

I don't remember the rock throwing, and the author wasn't alive yet. Don't expect any intelligence or rational thinking from City Newspaper.

I can show you a video of our current president agruing FOR segregation, saying he didn't want his kids to go to school in a jungle, if you like.

I don't think this invalidates the story though, as you can find past articles from and even people from that time that were involved. With this said, there were stories like this across the country. So, Rochester wouldn't be exclusive in this regard.

To be honest, politics don't have anything to do with the subject either and I thought the article was going to be about the current school situation.

Seems to me, many so called "authors" lately, seem to be focused on dredging up the past. I'm not sure what they're trying to prove, because right or wrong, it can't be changed. As "JW" pointed out, the author of this particular book wasn't even around, during the events he's trying to lecture about, therefore anything he's basing his thoughts on, are second hand..........

Then, couldn’t we say that about a lot of history? I’m thinking that any writer worth anything would be able to get information from sources available, including articles, personal accounts, etc. It isn’t like this was that long ago, as there are people that lived through some of this alive now. With that said, I initially thought it would be a commentary about recent aspects in regards to schools.

The article started out with the rock throwing story. Then went on to talk about segregation. I mentioned that our current president has argued in the past FOR segregation of schools. Not politics, just facts.

What does the current president have to do with what was going on in Rochester at that time? Hence, the reason why I mentioned politics, as he doesn't have anything to do with what went on in Rochester back then. Even with that, I did mention that Rochester isn't the only place where such things occurred, as it happened across the country. Same with the statements from business leaders mentioned in the article.

On another note, Rochester Corporate Challenge to return this summer: https://www.democratandchronicle.com...ld/6938938001/

It's not politics. It's a difference of opinion between 2 different philosophies. Maybe some day you will see that most problems in peoples lives, needing government assistance was actually created by the government. They are not in the business of solving our problems, just want to control us any way it takes
