Got these suckers on the back of my Caprice, a rather interesting car in the snow, makes a BIIIIG difference what kinda tires you are rollin!

That's where the Blizzak and Artic Apline type snow tires are superior. They maintain good dry road performance while still providing a significant increase in ice/snow traction. I found the Blizzak to provide the better snow/ice traction, but the Artic Alpine to provide superior dry road performance. Pros and cons.

I think I had an extra set of rims with Artic Alpines on them for my Jettas, they were pretty good snow tires. Not enough that I've wanted to pay the extra money to get them for any of my other cars though (they had also come with one of the cars).

It's best to change out your tires for the specific conditions, but most people don't have that luxury...
