And that's why I think Downtown Plaza would be wise to invite some of the tenants from Roseville to temporarily set up shop in Downtown Plaza: because they're both part of the Westfield chain they can probably offer them a better deal and better facilities than some Roseville strip mall, and it would give some sales to stores unable to repair and reopen by Thanksgiving. That would fill a few vacant spaces and provide a different product mix, at least temporarily. Some might move back once the damage is repaired, while others might consider sticking around--at the very least, it would give Downtown Plaza some idea of what products might work well in that location, and draw some buzz, plus some potential extra customers. I'm not even talking about long-term plans for the mall like new anchor tenants.

I actually wish it was DTP that burned not roseville galleria. That mall needs to be leveled and a times square put in with a few 100 story skyscrapers.

I'm indifferent. Its just a mall in an area thats known to be slightly snooty
and elitist.
I do have empathy for the retail clerks who will be out of a job for a month or two. That stinks in this economy.
The stores will collect insurance and get taxpayer emergency money. It's a sweet deal that Mom and Pop stores won't get if a fire breaks out.

This was definetly a trip to see firsthand as I work nearbye, and definetly have seen the frustration first hand from someone that's employeed there and I feel for them. It's encouraging to see that a generous portion of the tenants have reopened already, and that several more should open back up soon. Living in south placer I surely would drop by here for some christmas shopping, but I guess we'll wait and see how that goes. If not it will be nice to go to Arden or sunrise, haven't been there in quite some time.
