Hi all,

I'm looking into luxury apartments in Sacramento and would appreciate some input. Any specific building names would help. I don't know much about the city, but it seems like I'd want to live in Midtown/Downtown or somewhere within a 2-3 mile radius from there.

Thanks!

What are you looking for? Size, bedrooms, amenities, budget?

L Street Lofts are really impressive if you have the money and don't need walls, but there are no real amenities except a concierge. Other loft apartments are the Elliott Building & 01 Lofts, but I haven't been inside. 1801L, right across the street from L Street Lofts, is fairly new and has a great pool and workout room. The Alexan Midtown also has great amenities, and is a little cheaper than 1801L, but quite a ways from central Midtown. The Capitol Building apartments downtown are modern and spacious, but I think they only have one bedroom units and they're right on the RT line.

Thanks, la_cavalière.

I'm looking for a 2-bedroom, size isn't important, amenities would include a small fitness center and preferably a jacuzzi and concierge. Budget would be flexible -- would want to keep it under $2500, preferably under $2100.

I think you'd like 1801L or Alexan Midtown, especially if a pool/jacuzzi/fitness center are important to you. 1801L's location is better, but their 2-bedroom units fill up in the summer pretty fast. More should open up in the fall - they'll put you on a waiting list. I think they have a 2-bedroom "penthouse" available now and a few one-bedrooms. You can also keep checking Craigslist for private condos that come from time to time.

My company relocated me to Sac and is renting a very nice 2 bed for me. I am very happy with the staff, maintenance, location, amenities, safety, etc.

I believe it has everything you are looking for. Only thing, I do not know what the rent is since this is being paid by my company.

Edit: add link www.800lofts.com

800 J Lofts seems fantastic. Are the two bedrooms there actual two bedrooms or is there no actual door to the bedrooms? It's hard to tell from the floor plans.

8th & J is fairly far east. Downtown is kind of dead at night and on the weekends, so depending on what you like to do, you might want to live closer to Midtown. Midtown begins around 15th Street, on the eastern side of Capitol Park.

The neighborhood north of 8th & J is a little iffy, too... maybe not dangerous, just a little rough.

Thanks. Do you know if the two bedrooms are actual bedrooms (and not just loft-like rooms)?

At 1801L & Alexan Midtown, they have real bedrooms with walls and closets.
