Are you looking at Asian Pearl 2009, with straight 3 stars out of 187 Reviews? That's a solid place. Every establishment with that many reviews WILL have a few bad ones, but if you look reviews are straight 3 to 4 stars.

If you want the best chinese food in the Northern California come to Stockton just 40 minutes south on the freeway.

Stockton had THREE of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in America in the Overall Excellence Award catagory from the Chinese Restaurant Foundation.

One of the Best Dim Sum restuarants in California is the China Palace on West Lane in Stockton. It also has won the top spot in the Nation in years past.

Check for yourself. Notice nothing from Sacramento in the top 100.

Auburn and Fair Oaks did have two on the list. Well if you check past years you might find one in Sacramento.

Also if you look at the lists San Francisco obviously has the most of any city in America. DUH! But thats a drive you dont need to make because you have Stockton!!!

Capital Tea Garden, which is the closest to where you'll be staying. While you're in that neighborhood check out Insight Coffee for some out-of-sight coffee (although there is absolutely fantastic coffee at Broadacre and Temple downtown) and a Doughbot donut (or visit Doughbot itself at 10th and W.)

Although if you're going to be here this weekend you might want to check out the Pacific Rim Festival in Old Sacramento:
