Between the two locations you are looking at Arden-Arcade, Carmichael, N. Highlands, Fair Oaks, Citrus Heights, or maybe south Natomas. Kinda depends what your budget is and what type of area you are looking to move into.

Actually if you're looking for a place in Midtown that's not an unreasonable budget for a place in the quiet end of the grid but within walking distance of lots of great dining. Main tradeoff would be a smaller lot, maybe 3200-6400 square feet. The commute would still be long but opposite the direction of most traffic (in mornings most traffic is heading downtown then back out in the afternoon) and

What part of So. Sac does your husband work in? That will help with establishing routes from areas.

Folsom could work for you depending on where your husband works in So Sac because of all of the back ways to cut through such as Grant Line Road. There are quite a few routes to Roseville from there too. Would definitely fit your lifestyle with all of the bike trails and lake/river access. Lots of restaurants and activities. Established neighborhoods

Gold River might be another good area for you to think about. You can take Hazel right into Roseville and there are lots of options to get to So Sac from there too. Just like Folsom, there are lots of trails and access to the river and Lake Natoma.

Some areas of Fair Oaks will work also as long as you have quick access to Sunrise or Hazel. The further you get toward downtown though the harder it is to get to Roseville during the traffic times. Trust me, I live in Roseville.

College Greens is nice also and well established.

You should consider Antelope. It is probably the only area with easy access to Roseville where $350,000 can buy a large home

If you want to be equal in commute times you should think about staying along the 50 corridor. Although there are lots of back ways to get to Florin and Florin Perkins.

There are some cool neighborhoods in Orangevale along the river, Fair Oaks has a bunch of nice neighborhoods and if you try to stay south of Madison it will make for easy access for your husband's commute and will be quite easy for you too. There are multiple routes to Roseville via Hazel, Sunrise, Old Auburn/Auburn blvd. I grew up pin Folsom and now live in Roseville so I've learned all kinds of routes around town for work.

On the other hand, traffic is usually moving out of Roseville in the morning on I80 so you would have that in your favor if you decide on an area down the 80 corridor.
