Hi I'm moving to Sac at some point and I wanted a locals opinion of these areas; I really like the vibe of Midtown, but I'm betting that the crime rate is high. What would you suggest?

The Crime is HIGH in South Sac

The crime has increased in Midtown - but only as much as any metropolitan.

I would still stick with Midtown, especially if you are young and have no kids

I live in the carmichael area which IMO is very nice. Low crime rate. Has mix of the country and city .

It would help to know what you're looking for. Do you have kids, are you into the urban scene, etc....

There are nice areas in and around midtown that are very nice. Crime rate is probably no different than any other large city. Do stay away from South Sac. though. I know that area Oak park is trying to change, but changes that drastic takes time.
We do have parking meters and restrictions all through downtown. So that is something to consider.
