I believe the shad and stripers are running up the American River and Sacramento River right now. Shad fishing is great if you haven't done it before.

Yeah, I just noticed the cottonwood floating in the air...sure sign the Shad are comin'
My fav after work spot for Shad is under Howe Ave. bridge, but yeah, if you never fished for Shad, it's a blast and cheap.
