why do the deer only come out when it snows? where to they live? I saw on dead on the freeway today when I drove fast by...does anyone know if this is quite common to see on the freeway like seeing a dead cat/bird? I was going to report it, but didn't know what number to call...911? poor thing..

why do you like snow so much? I have seen snow in China, but never lived there for long term. I know I don't like the heat, so I shouldn't mind the snow...now how much colder will it 'feel' than the current temp these days at night/morning? people recommend me to buy my home after I experience the snow season here in Utah, but again, I don't think I'll mind the snow....

IMHO, it doesn't feel as cold as many other places b/c of the low humidity. I have a full-length down coat that I wore 3-4 times per yr in New Orleans, when It was 35 deg, 85% humidity, and the wind was blowing. I wore it once in the 1st 3 yrs I lived here. A dry cold, just like a dry heat, is so much easier to bear. I think you will feel beter once it snows and dries up-today was more humid than usual. Right now as I type, it's 48 deg and 48% humidity, per the WeatherBug station near my house. If you spend any time outdoors, more than just going in/out of house/car/store, you will want some good winter boots, not fashion ones. Go to someplace like an outdoor store (REI) and get some real winter boots, the kind with lug soles and lace-up ties and insulation.

When the snow starts to fall in the mountains, the deer will migrate further down to try to find their food easier.
Unfortunately, deer on the freeway can been seen quite often..

does the city help feed them or take care of them in any way? I believe it would be very hard for them to find food during the cold winter...my heart just breaks when thinking about that..

I was so naive to think that my jogging shoes will work...I have a brace thing inserted for my jogging shoe for my Plantar Fasciitis problelm, how am I suppose to get that in the boots?

Take it with you to REI and ask them! Oh no, jogging shoes will mean very wet and cold feet! Sometimes you have to step through a few inches of snow to get somewhere.
