I'm new to the area - is halloween big out here? I live in South Jordan. The last thing I want is to buy candy and no one knock on our door! Thanks!

I am new also but from what I hear it is huge. I first visited the area about a week after last Halloween and there were still a lot of decorated houses and closed pumpkin patches.

I will be decorating my house up big here in Daybreak.

So you ended up in Daybreak, huh? I think you'll be happy there. Yes, Halloween in huge everywhere in the Salt Lake area. The the determining factor on how many kids you get is how many kids there are in the area. And that's something I don't know for sure about Daybreak. In areas where most of the kids have grown up and moved away from home, there are few trick or treaters, but in areas with a lot of kids, you could easily get 100 or even possibly 150. And if you decorate up big, you'll be a huge hit.

Welcome to Utah!

It depends. A lot of Mormons do "trunk or treat" at the local church. Out here in West Jordan, I'm lucky to get 1 or 2 kids. I've been out here two years.

I only get a dozen or so, most people go to "trunk or treat" (or some other organized type thing).

But I was amazed when we moved out here how MUCH they love Halloween!

Daybreak seems to be very family-friendly and diverse... I bet that there will be a lot of Trick-or-Treaters out there!

It depends on the area, I think most people get 1-2 people. There's a street in Holladay (Shadow Wood Cir.) that some people refer to as "Halloween Street" around Halloween because it's closed to traffic, and probably gets upwards of 1000 people on Halloween.

Hmm....guess where we are moving... Just kidding of course, but DH would be in hog heaven to have 1000 people visit his decked out, spooky house on Halloween night!
