I like happy endings, especially when animals and kids are involved

Please fill out the strategic planning survey. If you didn't get one in your email, there's a link here: Villages of Westcreek - San Antonio, Texas |

My two favorites are security patrols and upgraded (stone) fencing on the main roads. Sick of the trash and paying for fence upgrades (to the wood) that don't last more than a couple weeks.

Deja Vu? Saw another cement yesterday. It was parked in front of the clock tower and being inspected by a DPS Officer.

Default Crime Alert

After 5+ quiet years unfortunately we have finally personally fallen victim to a crime against our property in Westcreek. Around 4:30am this morning someone broke into our (currently vacant) house. They used a stone from our back yard to break the glass in the back sliding door. After they got in they continued to vandalize the house and upon setting off the monitored alarm they panicked and ripped the keypad off the wall before fleeing on foot.

According to the Bexar County officer that is investigating the incident he believes it was likely a youth just looking to be destructive. Unfortunately he is probably right which is frustrating since it seems to continue to be the pattern of crimes for this area this time of year. When the kids go back to school the gangs get busy initiating new members through property crime.

Let this be a warning to all Westcreek residents to be extra vigilant to protect your property and to keep a look out for these punks. I started the original thread (nearly exactly 4yrs ago to the date) specifically as a response to this very problem. Since then I am glad that the HOA has taken steps to keep residents more aware of these crimes, and I hope through this awareness we all will do more to watch out for each other and ultimately reduce the appeal of Westcreek as a target.

BTW...a vehicle around the corner from our house was also broken into.

Probably yet another case of irresponsible "parents" failing AGAIN. There's no shortage of them in this city..

Hey guys - sorry for being a ghost again! Been so busy lately.

Great pic of that cement truck rd!! I assumed he turned from 1604 onto Military too fast, and clipped the curb. There are tire and wheel marks on it, that slide out to where he stopped. I think he slid into a car too. Scary stuff.

If you guys didn't know, VWOA is on Facebook now too: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Villa...60037524009854

Rummage sale is this weekend!!

Anyone getting together for NNO this year?

Was riding home after work this afternoon and I couldn't help but notice the medians along Military actually have GREEN in them. Probably weeds, but still, it was actually a little green and the leaves on the trees actually looked alive again.

I can assure you that replacing fencing, due to wear and tear or a car crash (which WC seems to get our unfair share), is a hell of a lot cheaper than replacing stone/masonry. Plus, when these punks spray paint graffiti on stone it doesn't always come off with a power wash. So are we going to paint stone? I love the look of stone, and it can be a good alternative to wood, but it is a very EXPENSIVE proposition when you consider maintenance and replacement and how many THOUSANDS of linear feet are in this neighborhood.

You need to look at investments over time.. how much money has the HOA wasted on the wood? I've lived here over 10 years and I believe this last time was at least the third time they've wasted tons of money on trying to get that wood to look good. It fails miserably every freaking time because it's an idiotic idea to put wood out in the hot a$$ed south Texas sun.

As far as the irresponsible drunks, make them pay for it! I'm not going to pay for their irresponsibility and nobody else should. It was their choice to be an idiot and now they'll have to pay for it. Accountability is such a foreign concept in this town. I wonder why?

For the little "artist" problem.. we also need to hire security and have the little POSs or their irresponsible "parents" pay for their work.. or we just have citizens patrol the area at night and eliminate the problem in our own special way. There are ways to influence things and as long as nobody sees anything, it never happened... plenty of people run into and fall off things. S*** happens is the saying I like most.
