Blanco & West Ave., in the Valley View Shopping Center (Marshall's is in the same center). I'm not sure, but I think it takes a couple of days, or so, to get the certificate.

No, you get it same day, usually within minutes, depending on how busy they are.

Excuse my ignorance, but is this a place where you just get a birth certificates if you were born in the state of Texas?

The last post in this thread was made over eight years ago, and the Community Link Centers mentioned have since closed.

Birth Certificates can be obtained at the City Clerk's Office, 719 S. Santa Rosa. But for a birth elsewhere than Bexar County, you will likely only get an Abstract certificate from them, rather than a Certified copy. If possible, best to obtain copies of birth certificates in the County in which the person was born.

In my personal paper records, I have a little card called "Certification of Birth" from the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District. It states "Place of Birth-Cameron County, Texas."

It doesn't say anything about being Abstract or Certified. Maybe this is just for out of state births...?

If the birth certificate has the raised seal, along with the registrar's signature, then it would be a certified copy.
