I find this pretty neat actually. You would think it would be one of the big LGBT populated cities like San Francisco or Seattle...but turns out it's here in San Antonio.

S.A. ranked No. 1 for LGBT families raising kids | Clocking In | a mySA.com blog

Citing a report, from scholar Gary Gates (http://www3.law.ucla.edu/williamsinstitute/about/gates.html - broken link) of UCLA’s Williams Institute, on the lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender population in the U.S. and information from the American Community Survey Office of the U.S. Census Bureau, The Atlantic has compiled a list of the top 15 U.S. metropolitan areas that are most friendly to same sex couples raising children.

I think Seattle is the most hateful place in the universe, closely followed by San Francisco. People think they are such great towns because of their so-called "open-mindedness". San Antonio clearly is more laid-back. Even me.

Yeah! That's great news. I love San Antonio and am so happy that it is an accepting community.

I've always wondered if it is because of our military presence. We get so many people from all over the country stationed here that end up staying and raising a family (my dad, for example). Maybe that diversity of background translates to a more open-minded community?

Quite possibly. Most of the people I hang with are locals, though.
