Was just wondering if anybody knows what happened as to why the Culebra Meat market on Encino Rio hasn't opened yet. The outdoor signs went up over a year ago and nothing else.

I do remember reading about the owner(s) getting busted for delinquent property taxes.

Thanks
Mig

The same is true for one on Nacogodoches Road, I would love for them to open as I am a fan of there store! Love their meats. Hopefully someone can enlighten about both locations.

Is that one still open on Nacogdoches and O'Connor? I never understood why they would build another one just a mile down the road. Burger King has had a "coming soon" sign on Nacogdoches for a long time. Did they ever build that? I didn't see one the last time I was up there, but then again, Burger King had the same sign up on Walzem for a couple of years after shutting down for "remodeling."

Drove by the location on Babcock yesterday and noticed it is closed. Boarded up. Maybe the bad inspections they have gotten lately killed them. Or maybe San Antonio is eating healthier?

I doubt it too.

The one on Culebra at Timberview had roaches in the sweet breads. That was the last time we bought anything short of canned food there. Now I live at La Michoacana. They are cheaper anyway.

Went into the one on Culebra and Timberview also, was a gross experience, I couldn't get out of the store fast enough...

Be happy they aren't opening any new stores.

They are the arm pit of meat markets. I wouldn't walk in those doors ever again plus it's sub par of cuts of meats.
You get what you pay for....

Not sure about the Burger king, but the Culebra meat market on nacogdoches up by o'Conner is still open.that's the one open in the plaza with i think Big Lots, or is it Dollar Tree,in the old Krogers location.
There is also on Pat Booker Road a Culebra's in Universal City which has connection to the meat markets, but is a restaurant.

bolded cant be more true. ive seen them on the news way too often for failed health inspections to even consider shopping there.

not only that, the wife has gone to a few and it seems the employees only speak spanish or dont understand enough english to take an order properly.

why anyone would want to support that is beyond me but hey, its your money...
