Just curious, what is the class size? Ours here in TX is around 20, we were pushing 27 back in MN which had a "fantastic school system."

ADHD is a joke of a diagnoses for a kid that has a high motor! I've seen it time and time again throw the child in some sport that requires lots of movement for example soccer, football, basketball, I would stay away from baseball too much down time. It teaches the child child how to be focused, have control, and have a positive energy outlet all at once. It's not a instant cure it takes time and coaching from the parents. It's better than the drugs they give to these kids it makes them zombies...teachers in a classroom setting are not to great at dealing with kids that need that extra patients. For K-4, the cap is 22 students per classroom. However, due to budget cuts, many schools this year are filing waivers which allows them to go over that number. In my school, most classrooms have 24 or 25 students this school year. 5th grade does not have the 22 student capacity, so 24 to 25 is the norm... this year I have seen 26 to 28 at some campuses. At our newer campuses, the classrooms were built with the max class size in mind, so adding 2, 3, 4 or more students makes space an issue.

OP, what are the specifics of the situation? More than just ADHD, please. Can you reference specific incidences?

There is a fifth grade teacher at my school with 32 kids!!! How effective do you think that classroom is? Are the needs of all the kids being met? I guarantee the special ed, low, and GT kids are not getting a quality education. It is by no means that teacher's fault whatsoever. It is the constraints that the broken system that funds education in this state has put into all schools throughout TX. I know some folks over at that school and they have all said positive things about it. Who knows???

my child doesn't have ADHD. She has been acting out toward her classroom teacher but not at any of the rotation specialists. I just don't think that her teacher is very nice and doesn't seem to have alot of patience.
