What does "Christmas dining" entail? Does it mean that they're open on Christmas or that they have something particularly special on Christmas Day?

Either! Only two of the above actually listed the times they'll be open Christmas Day (so noted by each). The others were listed only as being open on Christmas Day, so the reason I included the phone #'s by each. You'll just have to call to find out the details, i.e., what hours they'll be open, what they'll be serving, prices, etc.

Update note: Please DO post any info you find out if you DO call! Thanks!

Holiday event - Santa's Ranch Holiday Lights is up in New Braunfels and is a fun way to do something "holiday-y" without being cold or spending too much money (or time). Open evenings until Jan 1, 6-10 pm (11pm Fri/Sat) and it is $22 per carload. We dress the kids in jammies, bring hot chocolate, and just drive around a few times looking at all the lights. For a couple dollars you can get special glasses at HEB (in the Texas Backyard/Holiday section) that turn holiday lights into snowmen, reindeer, angels, snowflakes... looking forward to trying those out this year!

Since this is San Antonio, I think we should all be looking forward to lots and lots of TAMALES!!!!!

I love me some tamales! So good!

I hope Santa brings me a dozen of them because all i want is tamales. Topped with chili and sour cream, of course. Wow, I'm hungry!

The Stone Oak Winter Festival is Saturday Dec. 10 from 10 - 3:30, it's free I think but they request new unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots.

ugh. I know the weather didn't help, but I liked this little festival soooo much better when it was just the hospital hosting it. Now it's just a bunch of vendors peddling their stuff and silly carnival stuff that of course costs an arm and a leg to ride/play. And poor Santa was hidden away in a small, makeshift tent like he was a prisoner of war! Horrendous.

Ah well, nothing good ever lasts....
