I wouldn't call it a "sports bar", but Freetail has great beer and big screens

That's why I began boycotting Buffalo Wild Wings years ago. Rather than pay the 14% alcohol tax to the state themselves they pass it on to you. Ridiculous! Guess I won't be trying this place either.

Um..isn't the cost of taxes passed on to the customer one way or another?

I don't see what the big deal is here.

I'd say about 14%

I am not a drinker so please explain. You are saying the bar should pay the tax without passing this on to the customer as an operating expense?

Bars and restaurants pay 14% of every dollar in alcohol sales to the state. So if you go to Kennedy's for instance, mentioned in this thread, and order a beer you pay $3.50. If you go to either of the mentioned wings places and order a beer, you pay $3.50 PLUS 14% tax on your bill. Most people don't notice the sales tax on their food and the additional tax on their booze.

I just ate there, and unfortunately I can not recommend Buffalo Wings and Rings.

The wings were good, but not great. The service was poor, and the restaurant was not well run.

After delivering our food, the server did not come back to ask how it tasted. Instead she returned quite a while later, and asked if we wanted dessert, but we were still eating our lunch.

My son had ordered a burger, and the waitress brought a nearly empty bottle of ketchup to our table, so we had to ask for one with ketchup in it. My son said the burger was good, but I noticed the patty was substantially smaller than the bun; it had bacon on it though, so my son liked it.

The roll of paper towels on our table was nearly empty. A table nearby was the same way (last sheet, where you can see the cardboard tube under it).

I completely drank all of my iced tea and had to ask for a refill. Waitress kept zooming by our table, but wouldn't stop unless flagged down.

No manager ever came by to visit or ask how we were.

No wipes provided afterwards to clean hands, like at other chicken wing places.

No one said anything to us as we left, no thanks for your business or anything like that.

I think this place plans to just get by and cash in on the Stone Oak boom, but if they keep it up word is going to start to spread and this place will not last.
