They are bringing this back when we never had it? This is them secretly trying to get as many as possible capped.

Maybe older people might do this. Not too many others though.

They'd do better with reasonably priced ala carte menu pricing so we can get rid of the crap channels - but they won't.

Actually, the media conglomerates won't let Time Warner, as well as any other TV provider, split up their channel offerings at will.

Most of the TV channels out there fall under the umbrella of single large companies (like NBC/Universal, CBS/Viacom, ABC/Disney, etc.), and those companies like to dictate an all-or-nothing proposition to the distributors of their programming. That allows them to bundle less popular channels (with cheap programming costs that run a lot of commercials) with wildly popular must-have channels that run costly programming (ESPN, for example). The cheap programming channels sort of subsidize the more expensive ones, I guess.

As far as internet plans, though, Time Warner should pretty much have carte blanche.

Watch - this is going to go to everyone at some point and they'll renege on having an unlimited plan for everyone.

Caps do nothing to solve the "supposed" issue of peak time last-mile congestion...

If you're so worried about your bill that keeping yourself under 5GB for only $5 off your bill seems like a good deal, then you can't afford your internet connection.

Good point, if people could drop the crap channels at will, no one would pay for those channels as no one would choose them, and the TV providers would charge more for the popular channels that everyone did choose to have.

WE got sick and tired of TWC and their lack of service and watching our bill increase almost monthly and DITCHED them for UVerse in Nov of last year.....BEST decision we have EVER made regarding internet/cable/phone service.

Would do it again in a NY second! We are paying almost the same, but getting SO MUCH MORE with FANTASTIC response and customer service....what is not to like????
