I was at the CheeseCake Factory at North Star Friday night and could
not believe the portion sizes.

The appetizer was the size of a meal while the main course had enough
food to feed at least 2.

I spent the weekend working that one off.

Yea, but how many times do you eat there? Once a month? No biggie. The trouble is when you eat out at places like that 1-2x a week.

Both when meeting friends or going out on dates, everyone wants food and cocktails, which usually equates to chips and margaritas. While I love both, neither should be eaten often! We need more healthy alternatives like the cove that offer natural, healthy fare. I completely agree with the posters above who indicated that eating is a central activity here because there's less to do here than other cities.

Another point we must all consider is the large amount of poverty in SA. There's a clear link between cheap, processed food, and obesity.
so what you're saying is that baloney tacos are unhealthy?

Default I know it,

I agree Irish, it is heavyset people not willing to take responsibility
for their condition.
The wife sees a psychiatrist for antidepressant medication, something about
a need for more serotonin between receptors in the brain, I don't know.
Anyway this lady Dr. has a girth of around at least 70 plus inches.
To me this lady is the one that needs help to stop eating. This must be an addiction to food ?

But if you are able bodied then there are no reasons for obesity. Whether it is San Antonio, the East Coast, West Coast, wherever. It comes down to moderation, personal responsibility, and motivation. And to whomever said obesity does not impact others it does tremendously. It drives up health care costs and premiums. Sidenote-I have come to the conclusion that the Alamo Ranch area is a food desert. Name five places over there that are not processed, fast-food, high fat eateries.
