We like to Bastrop State Park (close, weekend place) and Colorado (South Mineral Campground near Silverton, longer trips)

We absolutely love to go~ The state parks are always nice and clean with plenty to do. Inks Lake is nice but it gets very crowded, South Llano Park is nice but they don't have full hook-ups but the Llano river is amazing. We also belong to Thousand Trails which is a membership camping with parks all over the US.
We live on a ranch and we have a little "campground" set up. Last weekend we went "camping" in the back 40 ~LOL~~ It sounds crazy but at least I wasn't at home where the housework is.

We just love Colorado, it is beautiful there. We usually stay in cabins when we go there though, those roads just scare me to death, I can't imagine pulling my 32" camper through those mountains

My partner and I are wanna-be campers. We've been talking about buying an RV or camper for a couple of years and just haven't made the move. We have a beach house and don't want to buy, but not use a camper. I'm looking forward to seeing everyones responses, as it seems that there are so many opportunities for camping very near to our home.

If I won the Lotto and made just over 2 mil after taxes, I would sell everything not keeping me down (except primary residence) buy an RV like the one that comes out in Meet the Fockers and a jeep to pull and pull up my spikes and go all over this great nation. Of course with a 5% long term investment for day to day expenses.

We are going to Kerrville this weekend. Not a state park anymore but they still take the passes. Lots to do and we love the deer.
