Al Jazeera has offered the following map and am wondering if it is the official area the promise zone will cover or will it actually be more limited?

How is this supposed to be any different?
How is this supposed to be any different? That is the purpose of this thread, to find that out through discussing any new information revealed about this program.

It would be easy to offer speculation with a hint of positivity to counter to all the negative assumptions already made but how will that reveal any actual details about our own promise zone?

Quite sure even if the SE side is not part of the promise zone that it will benefit this side of town as well as others immediately surrounding the zone because when one areas is improved it tends to have ripple effects.

The AT&T center is also hardly in the middle of no where but exactly 11 minutes from the traditional center of our city (the dome at San Fernando Cathedral) if getting on Houston and driving straight to it. That area has been very popular with events for decades. Our very own Stock Show & Rodeo occur there.

That's all this is, Obama throwing a bone to an area populated by those he considers part of his base.
Increasing voter turnout is always a good idea but we are aware some would prefer to make it harder for those who would not agree with them.

Default No voter Base,

Obama does not need a voter base, he is exiting politics. A Hillary Base? Yes. It is unannounced,
but a foregone conclusion. Hillary will get the votes for potus.
Eastside Investment is - Not a Julian grooming device as some people have entered here. Maybe it is?
It surely cannot hurt him or our city.
If our Eastside makes a success out of this Promise Zone, is a big success, Castro will get more media exposure. That much is certain.
American dollars fowing into east side is stimulus, yes. Good. Good for our eastside.

Default As is,

Obama will soon become a lame duck anyway. That is how it goes. He will be out. Got the job done
though didn't he? Changed the social fabric.
Hopefully the East Side will see a new beginning from this ...input.
Hillary does not have to worry over the East Side voter base here, it is her's already.
Quite the lengthy post. Succinctness is obviously your strong suit. Some of us are
gifted with the ability to express ourselves with great alacrity. That is you. I await your next words with
great anticipation.

Too much general and national politics, too little about local issues.

This thread has continued to stray off topic.
