It says Chili's if you blow it up pretty big.. I guess they're the new Walgreens or something, even though it would be nice not having to drive the extra 4 miles or so..

Default Shell at Military/1604

Jis a heads up ~ there seems to be a new guy at the Shell station (at least I haven't seem him before), and I'm pretty sure that he intentionally shorted me 2 bucks today. Not that it's a chunk to worry about, but if he's intentionally shorting people...... He handed me back my change in a wad (bought a pack of gum with a 20, with the intention of giving my daughter the paper change for a movie) and I didn't notice it until later when I handed her the $ and it was 16 instead of 18. It may well have been unintentional on his part, but he seemed to purposely wad it and didn't give me a reciept. So, count your change while you're there.

I guess taking all your money at the gas pump is no longer enough.. thanks for that advice, I'll pass it along.

That reminds me of another gas station thing. There's a gas station at Marbach and Hunt that totally ripped me off when I first moved here in 2001. I was getting gas and it put in more gas than my tank held. I went in to complain to the cashier and he just smiled and said I'd have to take it up with the manager that of course wasn't there. His smile was one of those we know that and we don't care smiles too. Needless to say I've never gone back. I've noticed quite a few stations around here do this and that's why I only get gas on base unless I have no choice. I know for a fact they calibrate theirs because they shut down all pumps at night when they do it and it always seemed to be the night I was getting gas back when I worked the night owl hours..

You can check and see if your favorite station is in or out of compliance here:
Texas Department of Agriculture

Looks like only 5 or 6 in SA on this last report.

Thanks for that sapphire.

Wonder how many people they have checking them though? I know how few people they have checking on all those people beating up their kids, so there are probably even less checking gas stations.

Actually, I think it's more of a priority to check the pumps than to check on the kids. At least judging by the rate kids die at their parents' hands in this city.

I see Koontz McCombs has started developement on the Westpointe Business Centre. And I saw some construction vehicles being dropped off on the proposed Fred Loya headquarters plot.
