Has anyone heard anything about DR Horton giving up the rest of what is left to build at this subdivision? Any updates on who will be taking over? Not sure if I should invest in a home over there or not, any info would help.

Their website still shows them promoting the neighborhood...Wolf Creek Community - D.R.Horton - America's Builder

If they do stop building there, it might have more to do with it being surrounded by the Northside ISD and yet this neighborhood is in the Southwest ISD.

Are they walking away or did they sell it to another builder? How many homes have been built so far?

It is still on the website for DR Horton.

That is huge! This is bad news for those that live there. They could be snatched up by a cheaper no name builder that is looking for a bargain. These types of deals never go up market...always down market.

By the way - did anyone notice that Pulte has pulled their larger more expensive homes out of the neighborhood on the east side of 281N at Stone Oak Parkway. That has to suck...if you bought thinking the neighborhood would be a $200K+ neighborhood now to have 1,500 square foot homes being sold in there.

The market is truly getting soft. 2008 is going to be an interesting year for real estate.

It would be interesting to find out why they are pulling out. Is it because sales are slow? Is the market slowing down? Is it only this area or is it affecting San Antonio entirely? Or are D.R. Horton's sales nationwide sliding further to the point that it is affecting other operations?

Is the sales office still on site? According to available listing information D.R. Horton still has 8 houses unsold in Wolf Creek subdivision. Good luck trying to sell those inventory homes with all the bad press.
