Like others have said we can have dry spells here in San Antonio.

Here is the actual rain amount received at the airport in recent years.

2015 YTD 14.71
2014 28.20
2013 32.00
2012 39.40
2011 17.58
2010 37.39

As you can see it can vary widely year to year.

Agreed. We have not really felt it yet, but as growth continues I have no doubt we will be feeling it at some point.

Not really, Azure - the City Water Board is already addressing that with deep-well fed Reverse Osmosis systems capable of converting brackish water into potable. There is a BUNCH of that water available, more than enough to address our long-term requirements.

Thanks for the info. Sounds expensive but don't disagree with you that this will help our water situation.

(You convinced me and I did not ignore you)

You cannot convince some people anything. I have been occasionally coming into these threads and telling people that we are not running out of water due to multiple projects and they just ignore you. (not all but some) The project you outlined and the pipeline project from NE Texas we will be fine as a city for a long time to come.

thanks for all the info people, sure helps a lot.

Seems like the heat is similar to my area of california now, except for humidity as we usually get a couple of spells of 100-110 temps in july and aug.

I also had a question about the New Braunfels area.

How is the commute to san antonio for work?

Are the shopping areas good or would i have to travel to san antonio

Are there family activities and how is the overall environment?

Commute to SA can be a pain in the butt, but it's not unbearable. Shopping is fine. To get specialty things you will either have to come to SA or drive to the outlets in San Marcos. There is plenty of family friendly things to do in NB.
